THE DONALD-BOT

The Donaldbot was a satiric social media art experiment using Artificial Intelligence as a lens to view the absurdity of our current politic climate.

Our team accumulated nearly 1 Million Followers on social media, created hit videos and memes all while developing a chatbot capable of negotiating and selling a pdf copy of the constitution with absurdist notes, questions and annotations from TheDonaldBot in the margins.

Many followers addressed the bot as a real human being and also believed it was the actual presidential candidate Donald Trump chatting with them and posting on the page. The project was covered by Newsweek

It was a front row seat to the dangerous reality of algorithms, a poorly informed electorate, foreign Russian bot interference and the emergence of a post truth world with fractured manufactured information realities that have very little common ground between them.
